Teeth Whitening
The first way to brighten your smile is with teeth whitening. If you don’t know, teeth whitening involves bleaching your teeth to make them lighter. Whilst it can’t make your teeth a brilliant white, it can lighten the existing colour by several shades.
There’s a myriad of reasons why your teeth may appear duller, such as:
- Ageing.
- Not maintaining good oral hygiene at home.
- Eating foods that stain teeth (for example – tomato-based sauces, curry, beetroot, balsamic vinegar).
- Drinking beverages that stain your teeth (such as tea, coffee, cola, red and white wine).
- Smoking.
- Taking certain medications.
But if your teeth have dulled for whatever reason, it is reversible!
Before introducing you to the two fantastic (and convenient options we offer at Mola Dental), we need to mention the infamous ‘at-home’ kits. These kits often claim to give users perfect white teeth. However, you should avoid whitening your teeth at home. As in a shocking report by Which?, they discovered that over half (58%) of at-home teeth whitening kits contained illegal (and dangerous) levels of hydrogen peroxide, which can risk damaging or burning your gums or mouth if misused.
Not only do these ‘at-home kits’ carry such serious risks, but teeth whitening may not work for everyone, which is why you must consult your dentist first. We will advise you on the right solution for you and help manage your expectations of the process.
At Mola Dental, we offer Boutique Whitening. It’s a premium quality whitening gel that delivers superior results. And what makes Boutique Whitening so appealing is that there are two systems available for you to choose from. Both options require us to take a mould from your teeth and using this mould; we will manufacture a bespoke whitening tray. Once we have created your unique mould, you have two options available…
Option 1 – Boutique by Day
The Boutique by Day formula is a 6% hydrogen peroxide gel. Containing potassium nitrate, which is a proven desensitiser. This option only needs to be worn for one hour per day and is ideal if you’re looking for a fast, comfortable, and convenient solution to achieve whiter teeth.
When looking at the science behind the product, the Boutique by Day gel releases large quantities of oxygen free radicals (which whiten the teeth) over a short period of time, whitening your teeth quickly and safely.
Option 2 – Boutique by Night
Alternatively, if you’d prefer to not have your custom trays in during the day, we offer a Boutique by Night solution. This option is a 16% Carbamide peroxide gel that contains the proven desensitiser potassium nitrate.
With the Boutique by Night option, you wear the trays for 4 hours (or overnight). Allowing you to whiten your teeth as you sleep.
This gel gradually releases oxygen free radicals, whitening the teeth over a longer period of time due to its sustained release. We’ve seen our patients achieve fantastic results due to the length of time the gel stays active.

Composite Bonding
Alternatively, if you’re looking for a way to remove stubborn stains, composite bonding could be the solution for you.
The process involves applying a high-tech coloured resin to the outer surface of your front teeth; this material is then shaped and finished to improve the appearance of stained teeth, giving you a whiter, brighter smile!
